Delicious TikTok Content

Back in the day, Orgain was one of the first organic, plant-based protein powders on the market. Today, you can find them in almost any big box store. When Orgain turned to Big River to help them create a suite of how-to videos one thing they knew for sure was that they wanted a piece of the ever-growing TikTok audience. What they didn't know was how to approach the project. We tackled this problem by consulting them on some of the best recipe ideas that would show off their different protein powders and appeal to health-conscious consumers (who can't seem to get enough recipe videos these days). After identifying four recipes that hit the mark, we headed into the production phase of the project.

Production

One of the biggest challenges when creating content for TikTok is keeping it short and engaging. Because of this we were tasked with showcasing each recipe in just 30 seconds. This meant we needed to significantly streamline the number of steps in many of the recipes while still maintaining a cohesive recipe that could be replicated at home. Detailed storyboards and graphic elements were drawn up and shared with the Orgain team to make sure we were all on the same page before hopping into our filming days. In our Delaware-based production studio we built our set using minimalist set decoration and we used our experience in food and drink styling to make sure each recipe was looking delicious.

Bringing the Mograph Magic

With our production day behind us it was time to dive into the ever-so-important work of adding motion graphics to round out each video and help viewers know what each ingredient was. Luckily, as part of our pre-production process, we took the time to outline exactly what the motion graphics would look like on each frame. This paid dividends and we quickly worked our way through several rounds of revisions and delivered master files in a very short window.
